The congregation at Partnership Place is so glad that you decided to visit us!
Everyone is welcome here no matter where they are in their faith journey. Partnership Place is a joint witness worshipping community consisting of St. John’s United Church of Christ (SJUCC) and Westminster Presbyterian Church (WPC). We would like to tell you about Westminster.
WPC serves our neighbors in many ways. The Jackson Personal Care Ministry was conceived by Westminster and, in association with four other Jakson churches, has provided personal care and household products to people in Jackson County for the past 12 years. During the holidays, WPC collects and distributes food for Thanksgiving and provides gifts for families for Christmas. Financial contributions are made to the Jackson County Youth Center through a Special Offering. We serve meals at the Jackson Interfaith Shelter and present a dinner church service every other month.
WPC was founded as a mission church of Jackson First Presbyterian Church in 1966 with 212 members. Like so many other mainline churches, our membership and financial resources have steadily declined and we were not able to attract more people like yourself. However, Westminster members were not ready to give up! The “Little Church with the Big Heart” felt called to continue worshiping and doing mission together, and began looking for another church with which to partner. We have been blessed to find a partner in St. John’s UCC, another church with a heart for mission.
Thank you for visiting us!
